The weather is sweltering and everything I’m putting on these days must be easy to grab and go, and stay cool. The problem with getting new wardrobe pieces this far into summer is the need to extend them into fall. Macy’s had me take a look at their NY Collection plus size styles, and I found several pieces that could work well for now and for the transition as the year goes on. (Seriously, someone make time stop for a minute – I need to catch a breath!)
This NY Collection Printed Boho Maxi dress from Macy’s ticks all the boxes. It’s comfortable, breezy, and can be dressed up or down. It can be worn on its own as I’m doing in these photos, or as we transition into fall, you can add a denim jacket and some boots! Or, you could even add a cardigan and pointed toe flats for a business casual look.
This maxi dress is available in 2 colorways and in plus and plus petite sizing. Every time I wear a maxi dress (it’s quite often,) people remark about how they’d always have to hem a maxi because of their height. Check out the other plus petite options from NY Collection – you may find some good options!
Fit notes: I’m 5’10 and wearing the 3X. I find that it’s true to size. There is no stretch with the fabric. I have worn several NY Collection garments in the past and sizing has always been pretty spot-on.
I especially appreciated that the buttons up the front of the bust weren’t pulling. This is often a sore spot for me with many plus styles – the gaping isn’t pretty! And always a plus when sleeveless dresses have wide straps so I can wear a regular bra with them. It’s too hot to worry about keeping a strapless bra in place.
